The Demigryph Knights are among the most fearsome heavy cavalry of the Empire of Man, riding into war upon savage demigryphs, lesser cousins of the noble griffon. These beasts, half-lion and half-eagle, are captured as fledglings in the mountains and broken to the saddle through years of perilous training, retaining a wild ferocity that makes them as dangerous as the lances of their riders.
Only the boldest and most skilled knights are permitted to ride a demigryph, for the beasts respect only strength and will savage a weak master. Clad in full plate and wielding lance or halberd, Demigryph Knights smash through enemy formations with unstoppable force, their mounts tearing foes apart with beak and talon.
Often drawn from the ranks of the Reiksguard and the knightly orders, these elite cavalry are reserved for the most critical battles, a living symbol of the martial might and proud chivalry of the Empire's nobility.
