Skrag the Slaughterer is the greatest and most terrible of all the Butchers, a gut-priest so favoured — or so cursed — by the Great Maw that the god's hunger has all but consumed his mind. Where other Butchers merely serve the Maw, Skrag is ridden by it, driven across the world by visions of an endless feast he can never quite reach, leaving abattoirs behind him where villages once stood.
He is a figure of nightmare even among ogres: a towering, blood-drenched priest hung with hooks, cleavers, and the tools of his grim trade, dragging behind him a great cauldron in which he boils the raw stuff of gut-magic. Into that cauldron go warpstone, live beasts, captured champions, and stranger things still, and out of it Skrag conjures the god's power in gouts of bile and butchery. It is said the Maw speaks to him directly from the pot.
Skrag believes he is gathering ingredients for a feast that will summon the Great Maw fully into the world. Tribe after tribe flocks to his banner, half in worship and half in terror, for to march with Skrag is to be fed as never before — and to know, uneasily, that the Slaughterer regards his own followers as simply the final course, saved for when the enemy runs out.
