Varghulf Courtier

A monstrous bat-winged beast the mad court hails as a peerless champion, a frenzied engine of claw and fang that regenerates even mortal wounds.

The Varghulf Courtier is a colossal, hunched horror of the Flesh-eater Courts, a degenerate cousin to the vampire kind that the ghouls venerate as one of the court's greatest champions. Neither wholly beast nor wholly noble, it lopes into battle on knuckled forelimbs and vestigial wings, driven by a hunger so profound that its ravaged body knits closed even grievous wounds so long as fresh meat is near. In the delusion of the court it is a gallant knight-errant, hero of a thousand duels; in reality it is a slavering monster that inspires the lesser ghouls to fresh heights of frenzy simply by its presence, its bestial roars stirring the horde into a berserk charge. Few things can stand before a Varghulf's assault, for it strikes with the strength of a war-beast and the ferocity of a starving predator, and every kill only quickens its unnatural healing. To fight one is to face a wound that will not stay closed and a hunger that will not be sated.
