The Crypt Infernal Courtier is one of the grander nobles of the Flesh-eater Courts, a bloated, bat-winged horror that the mad ghouls perceive as a resplendent knight-herald of the royal household. In the court's shared delusion it is a gallant messenger bearing the king's summons; in truth it is a ravenous Crypt Flayer grown vast and cunning, wreathed in the reek of the charnel pit. The Courtier serves as a rallying point for the winged terrors of the court, and with an ear-splitting shriek it can call fresh flocks of Crypt Flayers plunging from the skies to reinforce the slaughter. In battle it fights with wicked talons and a diseased bite, tearing knights from their saddles and carrying screaming prey aloft before letting them fall. To the ghouls it is nobility incarnate, an object of fawning reverence; to the enemy it is a nightmare on leathern wings, orchestrating the descent of an entire horde of flesh-hungry horrors. Where the Courtier soars, the feast is never far behind.
