Dracothion is the Great Drake, mightiest of the celestial God-Beasts that wheel through the firmament of the Mortal Realms. A dragon of living starlight, its coils are constellations and its breath the warmth that quickens dead worlds. Among the countless titan-beasts that stalk the realms, Dracothion is counted a power of Order and a friend to the works of Sigmar, its wisdom as vast as the dark between the stars.
The founding legend of the Age of Myth tells how Dracothion found the God-King adrift, clinging to a fragment of the shattered world he had once called home. The star-drake carried Sigmar to the realm of Azyr and to safety, and from that meeting was struck a bond that would shape the ages to come. It was Dracothion's celestial hosts that gave the Stormcast Eternals the dracoths and stardrakes they ride to war, kin descended from the Great Drake's own line.
When the Age of Chaos closed the gates of the heavens, Dracothion withdrew to the deep firmament, and its long silence was mourned as the loss of a guiding light. Yet the star-drake's children still bear Sigmar's warriors down from the storm, trailing celestial fire, and the constellations that map fate across the realms are said to be the Great Drake's slow-turning body. Where the night sky burns clear over a Chaos-haunted realm, some still look up and name the brightest coil Dracothion, and take heart that the heavens remember.
