The Tide's Mercy

Eidolon of Mathlann, Aspect of the Sea

The serene avatar of the sea-god Mathlann, a luminous manifestation of the ocean's providence that heals the deepkin and turns the tides of battle.

The Eidolon of Mathlann, Aspect of the Sea is the gentler face of a drowned god, a radiant avatar summoned by the deep-aelf priesthood to embody the ocean not as destroyer but as provider, the tide that carries, the current that guides, the deep that shelters. Where the Storm Aspect is vengeance, the Sea Aspect is providence, and it moves across the battlefield in an aura of shimmering, life-giving power.

In its presence the ethersea surges to the deepkin's command, wounds close, flagging spirits are renewed, and the ghostly tides bend to lift the enclave's warriors toward victory. Among the Idoneth Deepkin the summoning of this aspect is a sacrament of hope as much as war, a fleeting communion with the god their soul-starved people lost. Yet even the sea's mercy is not soft; the same tide that heals can rise to drown, and the Sea Aspect wields the ocean's fickle generosity as a weapon, granting and withholding, giving and taking, as pitiless in its providence as the deep itself. To behold it is to glimpse the drowned god as the Idoneth pray he might one day return: not to punish the world, but to shelter his abandoned children.
