The Dark Master

Be'lakor

The very first Daemon Prince, cursed by the gods he served and consumed by an ancient grudge, who schemes from the shadows to see all creation brought low.

Be'lakor was the first mortal ever raised to daemonhood, exalted above all others in the earliest days as the Dark Master, champion of the united Chaos Gods. His triumph was also his ruin. So great grew his pride that the gods, offended, cursed him: stripped of their favour yet denied oblivion, condemned to endure as a being of living shadow, remembered by none and doomed to watch lesser champions rise to the glory that was once his.

That curse has curdled into a hatred without limit. Be'lakor loathes the gods that made and unmade him, loathes Archaon who wears the mantle of Everchosen he covets, and loathes the mortals who might yet claim the exaltation stolen from him. He works always from the shadows, a master manipulator who spins plots within plots, turning armies and archregents alike into unwitting pieces in schemes centuries in the laying.

When he deigns to fight, Be'lakor is terrible to behold — a winged darkness bearing a cruel blade, wielding sorceries that stop hearts and unmake souls. Yet his true weapon is patience. The First Prince has waited an eternity for his revenge, and he means to see every throne in creation, mortal and divine alike, cast down into the same shadow he was condemned to walk.
