Named for the many-headed hydra of ancient myth, the Lernaean Terminators were the elite heart of the Alpha Legion's open military strength, veterans encased in master-wrought Terminator plate and armed to overwhelm any foe at close quarters. In a Legion that prized subtlety above all, the Lernaeans represented the moment when subtlety was set aside and raw, concentrated force applied instead, the hidden blade drawn at last. They were most often committed once the Alpha Legion's schemes had already done their quiet work, deployed to seize a critical objective or annihilate a decapitated enemy formation with a sudden, unstoppable assault. Bearing storm shields and specialised weaponry, they weathered punishment that would shatter lesser units and answered it with disciplined, methodical slaughter.
