Armillus Dynat rose to the rank of Praetor within the XX Legion by mastering the one discipline the Alpha Legion prized above all others, the art of the perfectly executed stratagem, in which every enemy movement had been anticipated and every outcome shaped long before the first shot was fired. A commander of formidable intellect and cold patience, Dynat treated warfare as an intricate mechanism to be assembled piece by piece, and his operations unfolded with a precision that left his foes convinced they had been undone by their own mistakes rather than by any enemy hand.
