Frost Weapon

The Axe Morkai

A twin-bladed frost axe of the Space Wolves, named for the two-headed death-wolf of Fenrisian myth that guards the roads to the afterlife.

Among the relics of the Fang there is no blade so freighted with dread meaning as The Axe Morkai, named for the two-headed wolf of Fenrisian legend that stalks the paths between life and death. Its twin heads of frost-forged adamantium are wreathed perpetually in killing cold, and to bear it is to carry a piece of the sagas themselves into war.

Forged in the manner of the great frost weapons of the Space Marines of the Space Wolves, its edges are honed from the tooth-like blades that the sons of Russ prize above all others, keen enough to shear through ceramite and bone. The chill that clings to it is said to still the hearts of foes and freeze the marrow of any who dare stand against its wielder.

Only the mightiest of the Wolf Guard and the Wolf Lords are counted worthy to raise the Axe Morkai, for its name invokes the death-wolf that judges the souls of the fallen. When it falls, it is as though Morkai himself has come to claim a life, and the skalds of Fenris record each such slaying in the endless sagas of the Chapter.
