The Typhon Heavy Siege Tank was a super-heavy siege engine of the Legiones Astartes, built upon the same massive hull as the Spartan and Fellblade but dedicated wholly to the reduction of fortifications. It was among the most feared bombardment platforms of the Horus Heresy.
At its heart sat the dreaded Dreadhammer cannon, a siege weapon of such devastating power that its recoil forced the vehicle to brace before firing. A single shell could collapse bastions, breach walls and annihilate massed formations, hurling apocalyptic destruction across the battlefield. Heavily armoured to survive the counter-fire of any beleaguered stronghold, the Typhon advanced where lesser machines would be torn apart.
The Iron Warriors, consummate masters of siegecraft, made particular use of the Typhon, employing it to shatter the defences their foes believed impregnable. Where a Typhon rolled forward, no wall could be counted safe.
