The Sicaran Battle Tank

The Horus Heresy

The Sicaran Battle Tank was a fast-attack main battle tank fielded by the Legiones Astartes during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy. Built upon a modified Rhino-derived chassis, it was designed as a swift armoured hunter, capable of running down enemy armour and light vehicles with a speed that belied its considerable firepower.

Its signature armament was the twin-linked accelerator autocannon, a rapid-firing weapon whose specialised munitions could tear through infantry and tanks alike. Advanced targeting arrays allowed the Sicaran to engage fast-moving targets and even track airborne threats. Relatively rare during the war, the pattern was closely guarded by the Mechanicum and issued only to favoured Legions.

The Dark Angels and Ultramarines were noted operators of the Sicaran, valuing its blend of pace and killing power. Its designs would be all but lost in the aftermath of the Heresy, becoming a treasured relic pattern in the millennia that followed.
