The War for Rynn's World

A single catastrophic missile shattered a Chapter's fortress, and the Crimson Fists fought a desperate war of survival against a green tide.

The War for Rynn's World began not with a bombardment but with a betrayal of fate, when a defence missile misfired and struck the Crimson Fists' own fortress-monastery. The blast levelled the citadel and slew the bulk of the Chapter in a single terrible instant, just as the Ork Waaagh! of the warlord Snagrod fell upon the world in overwhelming numbers.

The surviving Space Marines, led by Chapter Master Pedro Kantor, were left broken and scattered, a mere handful of warriors against a galaxy-spanning tide of Orks. The greenskins overran the capital of New Rynn City and drowned the planet in a war of extermination. For over a year the Crimson Fists waged a brutal guerrilla campaign from the wilderness, striking and vanishing, refusing to yield though every hour brought fresh loss.

Kantor's grim resolve became the Chapter's salvation. He rallied the survivors, held the ruins of New Rynn City through a desperate siege, and bought the time needed for Imperial reinforcements to arrive and break the greenskin host. Rynn's World endured, but the Crimson Fists were reduced to a fraction of their former strength, a proud Chapter brought to the very edge of extinction. Their survival stands as testament to the stubborn defiance that keeps the Imperium alive against all odds.
