M42 (Era Indomitus)

The Arks of Omen Campaign

Abaddon unleashed vast blackstone leviathans to seize the galaxy's warp-lanes, setting the stage for his darkest design yet.

The Arks of Omen Campaign marks the latest and most ambitious stratagem of Abaddon the Despoiler, warmaster of the Long War, who deployed a fleet of colossal blackstone vessels to seize the most vital warp-corridors and choke-points across the galaxy. These Arks, ancient constructs of dread power, became mobile fortresses from which the forces of Chaos projected their will over the fractured stars.

The Chaos Space Marines of Abaddon's Black Legion and their countless allies struck at strategic worlds and passages, seeking not mere conquest but the assembly of the pieces for some greater, more terrible design. The campaign drew in factions beyond number, for the Arks' movements threatened every power in the galaxy, and even the awakening Necrons found their ancient blackstone secrets bound up in the Despoiler's schemes, drawing them into the widening conflict.

As the Arks carved their paths through contested space, the campaign became a galaxy-spanning war of maneuver and desperate defence, each faction scrambling to divine and thwart Abaddon's ultimate purpose. The Despoiler had orchestrated grand deceptions before, and the wisest Imperial commanders feared that the true blow was yet to fall. The Arks of Omen were but the prelude, the gathering of forces before a strike that would shake the foundations of the galaxy and open the next black chapter of the Long War.
