Kislevite Winged Lancers

The proud heavy horse of the Gospodars, whose tall feathered wings scream in the wind as they thunder into the charge.

Winged Lancers are the glory of Kislev's cavalry and the image the whole Old World holds of the northern realm at war. Gospodar nobles clad in gleaming scale and mail, they ride heavy horses and couch long lances — but their most famous feature is the tall frame of feathers rising from each rider's back. At the gallop these wings catch the wind and shriek, a rising unearthly wail that unnerves enemy horses and men alike and heralds the lancers' charge like the cry of some great bird of prey. The wings are said to turn aside lariats and glancing blows, and above all they proclaim the pride of a people who meet the doom of the north with pennants flying. When a wedge of Winged Lancers strikes home, the impact can shatter a battle-line outright — and the eerie scream of their charge is often the last thing the enemies of Kislev ever hear.
