Plaguebearers of Nurgle

The mournful tallymen of the Plague-Father — bloated, rotting daemons of dreadful endurance who shuffle forward in droning ranks that no amount of slaughter seems to thin.

Plaguebearers are the rank and file of Nurgle's legions, the mournful tallymen of the Plague-Father who count and record every disease loosed upon the world. Bloated and rotting, single-horned, their green hides split to reveal glistening innards over which clouds of daemon-flies crawl and drone, they shuffle forward in unhurried ranks that no amount of slaughter seems to thin. Each bears a rusted, corroded blade whose every cut festers, spreading the gifts of their god to any it wounds.

What defines the Plaguebearers is their dreadful endurance. They absorb blows that would banish lesser daemons, oozing and reforming and coming on regardless, for they are the embodiment of decay and decay cannot be stopped, only delayed. They feel no pain and no fear, and they fight with a patient, monotonous persistence, tallying the enemy dead in droning voices as they hack them down. To hold a line against Nurgle's daemons is to watch an unhurried tide of rot advance no matter what you do, until at last it closes over you.
