The Jabberslythe is one of the most horrific monsters the braytribes drag out of the deep forests, a slobbering amalgam of toad, mantis, and serpent so utterly wrong to look upon that the mind rebels against the sight. Warriors who gaze too long upon its aspect are driven gibbering into madness, hacking at their own comrades or fleeing screaming from the field.
Its horrors are more than psychic. The Jabberslythe's veins run with a corrosive, boiling blood that spurts from every wound to scald and dissolve those nearby, so that even striking the beast down carries a terrible price. It lashes with a long barbed tongue, snatches victims into its cavernous maw, and batters foes with membranous, half-formed wings. Beastlords who master one wield it as a weapon of pure terror, unleashing it where the enemy is densest and letting its very existence do the work that blades cannot. To face a Jabberslythe is to have one's courage, sanity, and flesh assailed all at once, and few who meet its gaze are ever wholly right again.
