Chaos Warhounds

Feral, Chaos-touched hunting dogs that range ahead of the warherd in snarling packs, running down stragglers and screening the beastmen's savage advance.

Chaos Warhounds are the hunting packs of the braytribes, feral dogs and wolf-things twisted by the wild magic of the wastes into lean, snarling predators. They run ahead of the warherd in great baying packs, noses to the wind, driven by an appetite for the chase that no amount of slaughter ever seems to sate.

In battle they serve as scouts and skirmishers, screening the advance of the slower beastmen and flushing hidden foes from cover. Individually they are little threat to an armoured warrior, but Warhounds do not fight alone; they swarm, dragging down stragglers and the wounded by sheer weight of numbers, worrying at flanks and rear until the main warherd arrives to finish the work. Swift, expendable, and utterly without fear, they are loosed early and spent freely, for the braytribes value them only as a tool of the hunt. Wherever the Beasts of Chaos go to war, it is the howling of the Warhounds that the enemy hears first, echoing out of the treeline long before the horns and the hooves.
