The Daughters of Khaine

Morathi-Khaine

The Shadow Queen and High Oracle of Khaine, who siphons the blood-worship of her Daughters to steal godhood for herself alone.

Morathi-Khaine is the Shadow Queen, High Oracle of the murder-god Khaine and a being midway through her own theft of godhood. Ancient beyond memory and endlessly cunning, she is at once a serpent-bodied monster of terrible power and a beautiful, honey-tongued sorceress — and both are equally deadly.

When the war-god Khaine was slain and scattered, Morathi gathered his bloody shards and built a faith upon them, founding the Daughters of Khaine, a sisterhood of aelven zealots who worship murder as a sacrament and offer blood upon their cauldrons in ceaseless sacrifice. Yet the truth is a deception of breathtaking scale: the devotion her followers believe they pay to Khaine, Morathi quietly diverts to herself, feeding on their faith to complete her ascent from queen to living goddess.

She is riven in two by her own ambition, the mortal Morathi and the monstrous Shadow Queen warring within a single divided divinity, each aspect scheming even against the other. Mother to the shadow-god Malerion, she bows to no power, least of all her own son, and treats every alliance as merely a tool to be discarded.

Nominally she fights for Order and stands within Sigmar's uneasy Pantheon, but Morathi serves only Morathi. Every war she wages, every rite of blood, every whispered pact bends toward a single end: the day the last of Khaine's stolen godhood is wholly her own, and the Shadow Queen answers to no one at all.
