Ulthwé endures at the very lip of the Eye of Terror, a wound in reality where the Great Enemy churns and the barrier between worlds is worn thin. Where other craftworlds fled the birth of She Who Thirsts, Ulthwé chose to keep its ancient vigil at the edge of damnation, forever watching the tides of Chaos for the moment they might spill outward and drown the galaxy. Its people live beneath a perpetual pall, their skies grey with dread, their every generation shaped by proximity to horror.

So constant is the danger that a far greater proportion of Ulthwé's Aeldari walk the Path of the Seer than on any other craftworld. Its Farseers are without peer, casting the runes further and truer than their kin, and their divinations have steered the fate of whole sub-sectors. Chief among them stands Eldrad Ulthran, mightiest seer of the age, who has spent millennia manipulating the younger races to spare his people annihilation.

From Ulthwé's spires ride the Black Guardians, a standing militia hardened far beyond the citizen-soldiers of other craftworlds, alongside the grim Warlocks who channel their grief into war. Every battle is chosen through prophecy, every death weighed against the salvation of the whole. To live upon Ulthwé is to be a piece upon an infinite board, moved by seers who see only the narrowing of a doomed people's future.
