Bakka stands as one of the mightiest naval bastions of Segmentum Solar, a fortress world whose orbital docks and star-forts serve as home port to great fleets of the Imperial Navy. From here the warships of the segmentum are mustered, resupplied and dispatched, and the void around the world is thick with battleships, tenders and the endless traffic of a war-machine that never sleeps.
The world is a linchpin of Imperial strength in the region, its shipyards labouring to keep the fleets in fighting order and its garrisons and armouries provisioning campaigns that reach across many stars. The Astra Militarum march through its marshalling yards, and the segmentum's admirals plot their wars from its fortified command-spires. To hold Bakka is to hold the naval strength of a vast swathe of the Imperium.
Because it guards approaches that lead, ultimately, toward the throneworld itself, Bakka is defended with grim thoroughness, its defences layered and its vigilance absolute. Fleets sail from its docks to answer threats from every quarter, and return bearing their wounds to be made whole once more. In the darkness of the age, Bakka endures as an anvil of Imperial power, a bastion upon which the enemies of Man break themselves against wall after wall of steel and fire.
