When a warrior of the Emperor's Children is too grievously maimed to fight yet too valued to discard, he may be interred within the armoured sarcophagus of a Dreadnought, condemned to fight on across the centuries. Among the Third Legion these war-machines are remade in the image of Slaanesh, their standard armaments stripped away and replaced with the shrieking sonic weaponry beloved of the Prince of Pleasure's servants. So is born the Sonic Dreadnought, a rare and dreadful engine wielded almost exclusively by the Emperor's Children and their myriad warbands.
In place of a long-ranged gun the Sonic Dreadnought bears twin sonic blasters or a single booming blastmaster, and a doom siren is set within its modified faceplate, ringed about with dirge casters and warp amplifiers that magnify its every utterance into a soul-rending cacophony. As it advances it broadcasts a ceaseless torrent of discordant howling and ecstatic screaming, sound so intense that reality itself begins to warp and mutate in its wake and even the hardiest of foes are driven shrieking into madness. Within the sarcophagus the interred warrior rages against an eternity in which he can no longer truly feel, and pours that torment out as annihilating noise. To stand before such a machine is to have one's sanity flayed away note by note, long before its chainfist ever falls.
