Blood Knights are vampires of the Blood Dragon line, the martial bloodline that pursues perfection in war above all other hungers, and they are quite possibly the deadliest heavy cavalry to be found anywhere in the Old World. Encased in ornate crimson armour, mounted on barded steeds as undead and tireless as themselves, they were knights and champions in life and have spent the long centuries of undeath honing a martial skill already beyond mortal reach. Their charge strikes with the weight of the grave and the fury of predators who cannot be killed by any ordinary means; lances shatter shield-walls, and the vampires wade into the survivors with blades that move faster than the eye can follow. They know neither fear nor fatigue, and a wound that would drop a living knight only sharpens their bloodlust. Proud, ancient, and utterly without mercy, the Blood Knights ride to war as much to test themselves as to serve their lord, forever seeking the one worthy foe who might, at last, grant them the perfect death they half desire and wholly believe they deserve.
