The Shadeglass

Shadeglass is a haunting, mirror-like substance native to the cursed city of Shadespire in the Realm of Death. Formed from a peculiar reaction between realmstone and the ambient magic of Shyish, shadeglass has the terrible property of trapping the souls of those reflected within it, binding them for eternity in a half-life of endless torment.

The rulers of Shadespire, the arrogant Katophranes, once used shadeglass to cheat death itself, encoding their memories and spirits into its surface so that they might be reborn again and again. Their hubris drew the wrath of Nagash, whose curse shattered the city and left it adrift between the realms, its streets now a mirror-maze prison from which few souls ever escape. Countless warbands stalk these ruins, and the deathless legions of the soulblight-gravelords covet the glass for their own dark ends.

Shadeglass stands as a grim monument to the perils of defying the God of Death, and its shards remain coveted and feared throughout the armies of the Death Grand Alliance, from the nighthaunt to the servants of Nagash himself.
