The Death Grand Alliance

The Death Grand Alliance encompasses the undead legions and underworld dominions that answer, willingly or otherwise, to Nagash, the God of Death. Its philosophy is absolute: that life is a fleeting aberration, and that all souls rightfully belong to Death, to be gathered into an eternal, orderly silence beneath the Great Necromancer's rule.

Beneath its banner march the tireless bone-constructs of the Ossiarch Bonereapers, the vengeful spectres of the Nighthaunt, and the aristocratic vampire dynasties of the Soulblight Gravelords, each serving Nagash in their own fashion, some loyally, others chafing against his tyranny. Unlike the disunity of Chaos, Death often marches with terrifying coordination, for Nagash can bend his servants to his will with a thought.

Death differs from the other alliances in that it does not seek to rule the living so much as to end the very distinction between the living and the dead. It rose to renewed dominance after the Necroquake, the cataclysm born of Nagash's own ambition, which flooded the realms with spirits and ignited the Soul Wars. To the peoples of the realms, Death is a patient and implacable foe that need not win every battle, for it counts on a simple, chilling truth: that in the end, everything dies, and everything that dies may yet be made to serve.
