The Rockgut Troggoths are hulking, stone-skinned monsters that lumber to war alongside the gloomspite-gitz, the sprawling grot horde that worships the malign Bad Moon. These troggoths make their homes in caverns and rocky highlands, and their bodies have grown so encrusted with stony hide that they resemble living boulders when they hunch and slumber.
Dim-witted even by the standards of their kind, Rockgut Troggoths are nonetheless devastating in battle. They wield massive chunks of rock and stalagmites as clubs, hurling boulders to smash apart enemy ranks before wading in to pummel survivors. Most remarkably, their stony flesh possesses a strange regenerative quality, knitting shut grievous wounds in moments so long as the beast is not slain outright.
The grots of the Gloomspite Gitz herd these creatures into battle with a mixture of bribery, bullying, and the promise of tasty morsels to eat. Left to their own devices the troggoths would simply wander off in search of food or a comfortable rock to nap upon, but under the light of the Bad Moon their savage instincts are stirred, and they become a rampaging force of destruction.
