Magic

The Amber Wind of Ghur

The Amber Wind is the wind of magic bound to Ghur, the Realm of Beasts, the raw and predatory current of sorcery that embodies savagery, survival and the untamed vitality of the wild. Of all the eight winds that make up the Great Cycle of Magic, the Amber Wind is among the most feral, resistant to the disciplined manipulations of civilised wizards.

Those who master its currents draw upon the primal essence of the hunt. Amber magic strengthens sinew and sharpens instinct, lending its wielders the ferocity of beasts and the cunning of the predator. Yet it is a perilous art, for to channel the Amber Wind is to invite the wild into one's own soul, and unwary mages have been known to lose themselves to bestial fury.

The Amber Wind blows strongest in Ghur, where the very land hungers and hunts. Shamans of Destruction and the beast-priests of many peoples wield it instinctively, while the beasts-of-chaos revel in its untamed power. It is magic as nature intended: merciless, hungry and free.
