The Celestial College is the order of the Colleges of Magic devoted to Azyr, the Lore of the Heavens. Its wizards, called Astromancers or Celestial Wizards, gaze into the night sky to divine the future, reading omens in the movements of stars, comets, and the twin moons of the Empire of Man. Their pale robes are strewn with astrological symbols, and their observatory-tower rises above Altdorf to catch the light of distant constellations.
Astromancers are aloof and fatalistic, burdened by glimpses of what is to come. In war they call down lightning and comets, cloak allies in the winds of the heavens, and forewarn commanders of coming peril. Their prophecies are sought by generals and princes alike, though few enjoy the company of those who see their doom written in the stars.
Established under Magnus the Pious with the tutelage of the loremaster Teclis, the Celestial College stands among the eight sanctioned orders, its seers a strange but valued presence in the councils of the Empire.
