The Amber College is the order of the Colleges of Magic devoted to the Lore of Beasts, drawing upon Ghur, the brown Wind of Magic that howls with primal, feral energy. Its wizards, known as Amber Wizards, are the most reclusive and untamed of all the magisters of the Empire of Man, often dwelling apart in the wilds rather than within the walls of civilisation.
Unlike the ordered towers of the other colleges, the Amber Order keeps its lodge beyond the bounds of Altdorf, for its magic cannot abide the tame confines of the city. Amber Wizards grow ever more beast-like as they master their art, adopting the mannerisms of wolves, bears, and boars, and can commune with animals or take on the strength and savagery of great predators.
Eschewing the wealth and politics that entangle their peers, the Amber Wizards answer instead to the call of the wild places. In war they unleash the raw fury of nature itself, transforming into monstrous shapes and rousing the beasts of the field to fight beside the armies of the Empire.
