Ghyran, the Realm of Life, is the verdant plane governed by the jade wind of growth, renewal, and the turning seasons. Its landscapes teem with abundance: endless rainforests, oceans of fresh water, blossoming valleys, and rivers that run with the pure essence of life itself. It is the domain most closely tied to the goddess Alarielle and her children, the tree-spirit Sylvaneth, who tend its sacred glades.
Yet life and decay are two faces of the same coin, and Ghyran suffered terribly in the Age of Chaos. The Plague God's followers sought to claim the realm as a vast garden of rot, drowning its forests in pestilence, and the Maggotkin of Nurgle still fight to spread their bloated blessings through its heartlands. Where their corruption takes hold, the realm's endless vitality is twisted into endless disease.
The struggle for Ghyran is therefore a war over the meaning of life itself: whether its boundless energy will nourish new civilisations or feed an eternity of festering growth. Its waters can heal wounds thought mortal, its groves shelter some of the oldest wisdom in the Mortal Realms, and its harvests could feed nations. For all these reasons the Realm of Life is coveted by every power, and few of its green kingdoms have ever known lasting peace.
