Kronus is a world of many faces, its surface ranging from windswept plains and rugged mountains to dense jungle and the ruins of ancient settlements. Once a modest Imperial holding, it became the prize in one of the most notorious campaigns of the eastern segmentum, the Dark Crusade, when a great warband of the Word Bearers descended to claim it for the Ruinous Powers.

What followed was a war of all against all. Imperial defenders, greenskin hordes, the raiders of the T'au Empire, the soulless legions of the necrons and the ancient eldar all pressed their claims upon Kronus, until the whole world became a single vast battlefield. Fortresses changed hands a dozen times, and the soil was churned to bloody mud beneath the tracks of armies without number.

Strongholds and stone crosses, monasteries and manufactoria all bore witness to the slaughter as the rival powers fought across every province. The Dark Crusade would decide not merely who ruled Kronus but whether the world would fall wholly into damnation or be scoured clean. In the end the fate of the planet was sealed in fire, a grim testament to how in the 41st Millennium a single world can draw the hatred of half a galaxy down upon its head.
