Bor'kan is the intellectual heart of the T'au Empire, a sept renowned above all others for the brilliance of its Earth caste scientists and the ceaseless output of its research colonies. Where other septs prize martial glory or steady discipline, Bor'kan prizes discovery, and its academies and laboratories toil endlessly to push the boundaries of technology in service of the Greater Good. Many of the T'au Empire's most potent innovations were first conceived beneath its research spires.

From Bor'kan come the finest prototype weapons and experimental battlesuits, and its cadres often field cutting-edge armaments still unknown to the wider Empire. Its Fire Warriors are frequently equipped with longer-ranged and more powerful rifles than the standard issue, a reflection of the sept's obsession with reach and precision. To fight alongside a Bor'kan cadre is to witness the future of T'au war-making unveiled upon the battlefield.

The sept's culture is one of restless curiosity and methodical progress, its citizens devoted to the belief that knowledge, freely shared, will lift all the races of the galaxy toward enlightenment. Earth caste savants are celebrated as heroes, their breakthroughs feeding the expansion of the Empire's borders.
