The Sin of Damnation is a space hulk of grim renown, a vast agglomeration of shattered starships, asteroids, and unnameable debris fused together across untold millennia of drifting through the warp. It emerges from the immaterium unbidden, a rotting archipelago of dead metal that stretches for kilometres, its corridors filled with darkness, silence, and the promise of death. It is a tomb that hungers.
Within its labyrinthine hulls lurk the broods of the genestealer, purestrain horrors of the Tyranids that slumber in cold hibernation until warm-blooded prey blunders into their lair. When Terminators of the Blood Angels boarded the hulk to purge it, they found chamber after chamber choked with the creatures, and the battle that followed became a byword for close-quarters slaughter among the Adeptus Astartes.
Space hulks such as this are prized and feared in equal measure, for their ancient wrecks may hold lost archeotech and STC treasures beyond price. Yet the cost of claiming them is measured in the lives of the Emperor's finest, for the genestealer swarms give no quarter in the crushing dark.
The Sin of Damnation has appeared and vanished many times across the centuries, swallowed once more by the warp only to reappear on another Imperial doorstep. Each time it comes, it brings the same choice: purge it in blood, or let its infestation spread to the stars beyond.
