The Spear of Telesto is among the oldest and most venerated treasures of the Blood Angels, a weapon whose origins predate even the coming of their Primarch. Legend holds it was already ancient when Sanguinius first took it up upon the world of Baal, a relic of unknown makers that answered the Angel's hand as if it had waited millennia for him alone.
The spear channels a searing energy, spitting bolts of holy fire that immolate the foes of the Emperor and gouge molten craters in armour that should turn any strike. Since the death of their Primarch, the Chapter has enshrined the weapon as a sacred inheritance, carried into battle only in the direst hours by the most exalted of their number. To the sons of Sanguinius among the Space Marines, to bear it is to carry a fragment of the Angel's own presence onto the field.
The Spear of Telesto has slain daemon princes and shattered the champions of the Ruinous Powers, and its light is said to give heart to the Blood Angels even as the Black Rage claws at their souls. It is a promise wrought in metal and flame, that so long as the spear flies, some ember of Sanguinius endures. The Chapter guards it as they would guard the memory of their father: with reverence, and with blood.
