Daemon-forged weapon

The Talon of Horus

A monstrous lightning claw wrenched from the corpse of a fallen Primarch, its talons crowned with a bolter that never runs dry.

The Talon of Horus is the shattered symbol of the Long War made flesh and metal, a four-clawed gauntlet born from the hand that slew the Emperor's dream. Forged in the shadow of the Warmaster's rebellion and touched by the raw stuff of the warp, it hung as a relic within the Eye of Terror until one warrior dared claim it. Whoever wields it wields the memory of Horus himself, and the daemon bound within its workings judges every bearer's worth in blood.

When Ezekyle Abaddon reforged the weapon and mastered the entity chained inside, the scattered warbands of the Chaos Space Marines beheld a sign they could not deny. Here was the successor to the Warmaster, armed with his very hand. The Talon slew the traitor Horus Aximand's doubts and rallied nine Legions beneath the banner of the Black Legion.

The integral cannon sheathed among its talons spits mass-reactive death, and each claw parts ceramite as though it were parchment. Warriors of the loyalist Space Marines who have faced the Despoiler in the void speak of the weapon's hunger, a cold intelligence that seems to guide Abaddon's arm toward the throats of the Emperor's finest. It is not merely a weapon but an inheritance, and its shadow falls across ten thousand years of war.
