The Third War for Armageddon was the cataclysmic return of the warlord Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka to the hive world he had failed to conquer once before, unleashing the largest ork WAAAGH! the Imperium had faced in an age. Having spent decades gathering strength, the warboss fell upon Armageddon with a green tide of unimaginable size, his invasion fleet blotting out the stars.
This time the Imperial defenders were ready, and the aged hero Sebastian Yarrick returned to lead the defence he had promised never to abandon. Reinforced by numerous Space Marine Chapters and countless regiments, the Imperium turned the entire world into a fortress. The war became a colossal meat grinder fought across ash wastes, hive sprawls, and jungle death-worlds, consuming lives on a scale that beggared comprehension.
Unlike his earlier defeat, Ghazghkull had no intention of winning outright; he sought instead the greatest and most enduring war he could make, feeding the growth of his kind through endless battle. The conflict raged for years without true resolution, both sides bleeding one another in a struggle that suited the ork's savage philosophy perfectly.
