The Domitar Battle-automata

The Horus Heresy

The Domitar Battle-automata was a formidable close-assault robot fielded by the Legio Cybernetica of the Mechanicum during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy. Bipedal and powerfully built, the Domitar was engineered as a shock-assault engine, closing the distance to shatter enemy formations in a storm of blows.

Each fist mounted a graviton hammer or similar crushing weapon capable of pulverising armour and bone, while integrated defensive weapons cut down foes at closer range. A high-capacity power core allowed the Domitar brief but devastating bursts of speed, letting it overrun positions before the enemy could react.

Controlled by the cortex-programming doctrines of the Mechanicum, the Domitar answered to its cybernetica datasmith masters with unwavering obedience. During the Heresy these engines were unleashed as living battering rams, and their unstoppable advance made them a dreaded sight in the wars that tore the Imperium apart.
