The Wild Riders are the most fey and reckless of all the Wood Elves, nobles who have given themselves body and soul to Kurnous, the Hunter God, and been remade by his savage power. Riding steeds as wild and otherworldly as themselves, they gallop to war crowned with antlers and thorns, their spears crackling with the raw magic of the deep wood, and they charge with an ecstatic, joyous abandon that borders on madness. There is nothing cautious in them; they live for the thrill of the hunt and the wild rush of the charge, and they hurl themselves at even the mightiest foe with reckless glee, their fey-touched lances striking with unnatural force. As the seasons turn, the Wild Riders ride out in the great Wild Hunt, and any creature abroad in the forest by night learns to dread the drum of their hooves and the winding of their horns. Half elf and half something older and stranger, they are the untamed heart of Athel Loren made manifest, answering the call of the hunt above all else — even reason, even survival.
