The Arachnarok Spider is one of the oldest and largest things in the forests of the Old World, a monstrous arachnid the size of a house that the Forest Goblins revere as a god and coax from the black heart of the wood only for their greatest wars. Eight legs each thick as an oak carry it over walls and through treelines with dreadful ease; its fangs drip venom that liquefies armoured knights inside their shells; and lashed across its bristling back rides a swaying war-platform crammed with Forest Goblins who stab down with spears and loose arrows while clinging on for dear life. To rouse an Arachnarok is a sacred and terrifying undertaking, for the spider is no more truly tamed than a storm is tamed. It simply happens to be hungry in the same direction as the goblins for a while. When it tires of the arrangement, being aboard is no safer than being beneath it.
