The Ogres are a race of massive, brutish humanoids who dwell in the Mountains of Mourn far to the east, a land of savage peaks and endless hunger. Twice the height of a man and vastly broader, an ogre's life revolves around its gut, for they worship the Great Maw, a colossal, ravenous god-mouth that fell from the sky and gouged a crater in the heart of their homeland.
The Ogre Kingdoms are ruled by mighty Tyrants who prove their fitness to lead through feats of eating and violence, while gut-priests known as Butchers divine omens from the churning stomachs of the tribe. Ever hungry and forever short of food in their barren mountains, ogres wander far across the world as mercenaries, selling their overwhelming strength to any warlord with meat and gold enough to hire a hulking maneater.
Ogre mercenaries are a common and dreaded sight in the armies of men and even the more desperate holds, for a wall of charging ogres can shatter any line. They are not truly evil, merely famished and simple, driven by appetite rather than malice, though this is cold comfort to those they eat. Wherever the herds of the Mountains of Mourn grow too hungry, the ogres pour forth in search of new lands to strip bare and new masters to feed them.
