The Chaos Dwarfs are the damned cousins of the mountain folk, dwarfs who long ago marched east and were caught in the corrupting gaze of the Dark Gods. Where their kin remained stubborn and true, these became cruel and grasping, their bodies petrifying slowly to stone as they age, their souls given wholly to the bull-god Hashut, Father of Darkness. They raised a black empire in the ash-choked Dark Lands, a realm of smoking ziggurats and endless furnaces.
The Chaos Dwarfs are the great industrialists of evil, forging monstrous war-engines and daemon-bound cannon that even their kin cannot match. Their empire runs on slavery, and vast columns of captives are driven east to labour and die in the mines and forge-pits, worked until they drop and cast aside without a second thought. The sorcerer-priests of Hashut rule all, their magic bought at the price of their own creeping calcification.
Contemptuous even of the Warriors of Chaos whose raids they exploit, the Chaos Dwarfs care nothing for the ruin of the world so long as their furnaces burn and their coffers swell. They are avarice and cruelty raised to an art, a civilisation built on chains and cinders, plotting always to bind the whole world to the anvil.
