Cold-blooded servitor race

Lizardmen (Saurus & Skinks)

Cold-blooded servants of vanished star-gods, the lizardmen defend their ancient jungle-cities in ceaseless obedience to a sacred, unknowable plan.

The Lizardmen (Saurus & Skinks) are the oldest civilised race in the world, cold-blooded servants created by the enigmatic Old Ones, star-faring gods who shaped the world and then vanished. Dwelling in the steaming jungles of Lustria, the lizardmen guard the crumbling temple-cities of their absent masters and labour endlessly to fulfil the Great Plan, a cosmic design inscribed in sacred plaques that only their wisest may read.

The Lizardmen are a rigid caste society. The mighty Saurus are bred for war, scaled warriors of iron discipline who know neither fear nor mercy. The nimble Skinks serve as scouts, artisans and priests, tending the temples and reading the heavens for omens. Above them all preside the Slann, vast and ancient mage-priests who slumber for centuries, their dreaming minds bending the very winds of magic to steer the world back toward the Old Ones' intended order.

To the lizardmen, all other races are latecomers and interlopers, warm-blooded upstarts corrupting a world that was meant to unfold according to a flawless design. They wage their wars not from ambition but from sacred duty, marching from the jungle to reclaim lost temple-cities and purge the taint of Chaos. Patient, alien and utterly devoted, the children of the Old Ones endure, awaiting a plan whose full shape no living mind now comprehends.
