Enchanted Bow

The Reaver Bow

A war-bow whose arrows never miss and always kill, wielded from the darkness by the vengeful Shadow King against the corsairs of Naggaroth.

The Reaver Bow is an heirloom of Nagarythe, that shadowed kingdom of Ulthuan whose folk kept faith with the light even as their cousins turned to the worship of Khaine. Cut from black wood and strung with a cord that hums like a struck wire, the bow suffers no arrow loosed from it to fly astray; every shaft finds its mark, and every mark it finds, it slays.

The last and greatest of its wielders is the Shadow King, who from the ruins of his murdered realm wages an endless war of vengeance against the Dark Elves who slaughtered his kin. He is seldom seen and never caught, a killer in the treeline and the mountain pass, and the Reaver Bow is the instrument of his patient, remorseless justice — a single arrow from an unseen ridge, and a druchii captain falls dead before the crack of the string reaches him.

Among the High Elf Realms the bow is spoken of with something near dread, for its bearer answers to no Phoenix King and forgives no wrong. The Reaver Bow does not fire in open battle for glory or for banners; it kills in the dark, one grudge at a time, and it will not be laid down until the last debt of a slaughtered kingdom has been paid in full.
