Chart of The Old World

South of the Old World and its inland sea stretches The Southlands, a brooding continent of trackless jungle, burning desert, and mountains veined with gold. It is a place of oppressive heat and older sorrows, its coasts fever-ridden and its interior all but unmapped by the peoples of the north. Few who sail south to seek its fabled riches ever return to spend them.

Along its northern deserts lie the crumbling necropolises of the dead, outposts of the great dynasties of the Tomb Kings, whose curse-laden legions slumber beneath the sands until roused to war. Deeper south, beneath the jungle canopy, stand the temple-cities of the Lizardmen, sister-strongholds to those of Lustria, keeping their ancient vigil over the works of the Old Ones amid the choking green.

The Southlands are a graveyard of ambition. Explorers, corsairs, and slavers all covet its treasures, yet its jungles swallow armies whole and its ruins guard their gold with curses and cold-blooded steel. Whole cities lie forgotten beneath the vines, their names lost, their wealth untouched. It is a land where the past never truly dies, and where the greed of the living is repaid, more often than not, with a shallow grave beneath an unforgiving sun.
