Hysh, the Realm of Light

Hysh, the Realm of Light, is the luminous plane ruled by the white wind of illumination, reason, and enlightenment. It is a realm of perfect clarity and blinding brilliance, of ordered mountains, mirror-still lakes, and academies where scholars pursue truth as a form of magic. Here light is not merely radiance but knowledge made manifest, and the realm's very geography is arranged with mathematical precision.

Hysh is the home of the Lumineth Realm-lords, the reborn aelves who mastered the disciplines of mind and body to become paragons of enlightenment, or, some would say, of arrogance. Their mountain nations pursue perfection through rigorous study and self-mastery, and they wield the pure light of Hysh as both weapon and lesson against the chaos of a darkening age.

Yet illumination has its shadows. The relentless brightness of Hysh can burn away not only lies but sanity, and those who stare too long into its truths risk being unmade by them. The realm stands as the philosophical counterpart to Ulgu, the Realm of Shadow, the two bound together as light and dark, certainty and deception, in the great cosmic balance of the Mortal Realms. Where Ulgu conceals, Hysh reveals, and the tension between them shapes much of the magic and philosophy of the age.
