The Konor system stands as one of the strategic keystones of Ultramar, a cluster of worlds whose forge-yards, agri-domes and populous cities bind the wider realm together. To hold Konor is to hold the roads between the stars of the primarch's dominion, and so its worlds have long been fortified and watched with vigilance beyond that of ordinary systems.
When the great rift split the heavens and daemon-legions poured from the warp, Konor became a battleground of terrible consequence. The forces of Chaos hurled themselves against its defences, seeking to shatter Ultramar from within, and the war for the system drew in defenders from across the segmentum. The Space Marines and the massed regiments of the Astra Militarum fought world by world, hab-block by hab-block, to deny the enemy its prize.
The struggle for Konor became a legend of blood and defiance, a war in which the fate of the whole realm seemed to hang upon each contested planet. Though the system endured, it did so scarred, its cities broken and its dead beyond counting. In the grim present Konor remains a fortified crossroads, its people forever watchful of the sky, knowing that the enemies of Man measure Ultramar's strength by whether Konor still stands.
