Graia is a forge world of the Adeptus Mechanicus, a cathedral-planet of soaring manufactorums and orbital ring-yards where the machine-litanies never cease. Its output of weapons, armour and war-engines feeds entire crusades, making it a linchpin of Imperial power in its region and a prize beyond measure to those who would see the Emperor's realm broken.

That value was tested when a vast Ork WAAAGH! descended upon the world, its crude vessels crashing into the orbital docks and disgorging endless greenskin hordes into the forge-districts. Amid the smoke and slaughter, the Space Marines fought alongside Graia's own defenders, and darker forces stirred, for the assault masked the machinations of the Warp seeking to seize a forbidden weapon buried in the planet's heart.

Graia endured, though its foundries ran red and its skitarii cohorts were spent almost to the last. The world stands as a testament to the Mechanicus creed that knowledge and industry must be defended at any cost, for every gun and tank that leaves its yards buys the Imperium another day of survival. Its priests toil on beneath a sky bruised by the fires of reconstruction, forever wary of the next storm to break upon their walls.
