Las weapon

Hot-Shot Lasgun

A supercharged lasgun drawing on a backpack power source to fire piercing beams that punch clean through the heaviest infantry armour.

The Hot-Shot Lasgun, sometimes called the hellgun, is a fearsomely overcharged variant of the standard-issue las weapon, drawing its power not from a simple cell but from a bulky backpack generator worn by its wielder. This vast reservoir of energy allows each shot to burn far hotter and strike far harder, punching through carapace and ceramite that would turn aside a common lasgun's beam.

Such weapons are not entrusted to the ordinary conscript. Within the astra-militarum, the Hot-Shot Lasgun is the mark of elite formations, the storm troopers and tempestus scions who spearhead the most desperate assaults. These disciplined warriors deploy by drop-craft and grav-chute into the heart of the enemy, their supercharged beams cutting down foes that lesser troops could not scratch.

The weapon demands both power and endurance, for the backpack unit is heavy and its energies must be managed with care lest the emitter overheat. Yet in the hands of a trained trooper, the Hot-Shot Lasgun is a scalpel where the common lasgun is a cudgel, a weapon of precise and lethal application. Its searing report and the smell of burning armour announce the arrival of the Imperium's finest, sent where victory demands the impossible.
