Reaver Attack Squads carried into the Sons of Horus's arsenal the same philosophy that defined the Legion at large: overwhelming speed married to total commitment. Roaring in on jump packs with chainblades and pistols drawn, a Reaver squad was rarely deployed to merely harass an enemy flank, instead thrown directly at whatever objective, officer, or strongpoint would break an opposing force's cohesion fastest, trading caution for velocity in nearly every engagement.
During the Great Crusade this aggression won the Legion countless swift victories against enemies who mistook speed for recklessness; during the Heresy it became simply another tool for terror, Reaver squads dropping into loyalist rearguards and command posts with a savagery that spread panic long before the main Legion assault ever arrived. Their reputation for arriving exactly where they were least wanted, and least expected, never truly faded even as the Legion itself descended further into ruin.
