The Kingslayer is a weapon of the Ruinous Powers whose name alone spreads terror through the ranks of its foes, for it was made with a single purpose, the slaying of the great and the mighty. To carry it is to declare intent to fell not common soldiers but champions, lords, and heroes, and the histories of the Long War are stained with the blood of those it has claimed.
Wielded by the champions of the Chaos Space Marines, the relic bears the taint of the warp in every line of its making, a blessing of the Dark Gods bestowed upon a favoured servant. Those who take it up are marked as slayers of renown, warriors who seek out the strongest foes upon the field that they might add their names to the weapon's grim tally.
Against the heroes of the Imperium, the Kingslayer is a promise made flesh, an instrument crafted to unmake those upon whom lesser men depend. Where a mortal army breaks when its leaders fall, the bearer of the Kingslayer hunts precisely those leaders, cutting the heart from the enemy host and leaving despair to do the rest.
